iii) You can gain credit for partial results.
iv) In university mathematics exams, most of the marks are for the details and justification, not ‘the answer’.
v) Do easy questions before hard questions; so do differentiation before integration.
vi) Graphs should be clearly labelled, but do not need to be masterpieces of draftsmanship.
vii) Explain what you are trying to calculate, and state clearly the answer at the end.
viii) Markers give credit only for what is written; they are not allowed to help the candidates solve the problems.
