As one of the highest renewable energy producers of all UK universities, sustainability is a core value for Lancaster University.

Lancaster University Conferences & Events+ has demonstrated exceptional initiative in implementing sustainable solutions, from reducing paper waste, replacing plastic merchandise at events, and offering water bottles made from recycled metals, to providing digital alternatives in a delegate app and introducing campus wayfinding via MazeMap.

Setting the Standard for Sustainability with a Platinum ECOsmart Rating

Lancaster University Conferences & Events+ has been awarded the Platinum ECOsmart rating for 2024.

Forrest Hills Solar Farm

Forrest Hills Solar Farm

The 16.5MW solar farm will consist of 36,000 individual panels that will span 21 hectares (around 52 acres) of University owned agricultural land at Forrest Hills, which is also used as Lancaster University Conference & Events+ venue, just off Bailrigg Campus.

ISO 14001 Environmental Management System

Our Sustainable Conferences & Events Policy, environmental targets, procedures, and arrangements have been integrated with the Facilities ISO14001 Environmental Management System (EMS), and as such are regularly audited (by internal and external auditors), updated, and monitored to ensure their ongoing implementation.

This integration demonstrates our commitment to environmental sustainability.
