An obituary for Professor Keith Morgan who died in May this year has been published in the Newcastle Herald. Professor Morgan was Professor of Organic Chemistry from 1968 and Pro-Vice-Chancellor and senior Pro-Vice-Chancellor until 1986.

Dr Philip Jonathan, Visiting Fellow at the Department of Maths and Statistics, featured prominently in Ancient X-files, a documentary about decoding Pictish stones in Scotland broadcast on National Geographic Channel this week.

Dr Carly Stevens (LEC) was interviewed in The Independent about wild flowers.

Professor Aristotle Kallis (History) was interviewed for a BBC Radio 4 documentary on the Euro crisis, to be broadcast at a later date. Professor Kallis was also quoted on the Scoop Independent News website, 17 June.

Dr Alison Browne (LEC) was interviewed about water shortages in ScienceOmega.com.

Professor Corinne May-Chahal (Applied Social Science) was quoted in the Guardian on violent child deaths and mental illness.

Dr Pragya Agarwal (FASS) was mentioned on the la Repubblica.it website, 20 June, about research which analyses the effects that sat navs have on people's driving abilities. Also appeared on the beaumontenterprise.com website, Houston Chronicle, PR Web.

Joint research by Lancaster University, Kings College London and Guys and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust and Kings Health Partners, into new wave legal highs has appeared in Medical Daily, Science Daily and Health Canal websites.

MadLab – an organisation which is working with Lancaster University to provide DIYBio tools to hard-to-reach communities in Morecambe – featured in the Guardian blog this week.

Professor John Quinton (LEC) was mentioned on the EuroActiv.com website, about research into the reintroduction of farm ponds.

Entrepreneur and graduate of the Lancaster Executive MBA Chris Ford was featured on the Top MBA website, explaining how he benefited from his time at Lancaster.

Emeritus Professor Sol Picciotto (Law) was quoted on the Transfer Pricing Weekly News website, 18 June, in an article about transfer pricing guidelines.

Professor Christopher May (PPR), was mentioned on the Digital Journal website, in an article about a patent which would eliminate access code fees for students from families of low and moderate incomes. Professor May was also mentioned in the Lancaster Guardian, 21 June, in an article about a FASS Enterprise lecture by honorary graduate Edwin Booth.

Dr Rebecca Catto (PPR) was mentioned in the Lancashire Evening Post, in connection with the Westminster Faith Debates she has co-organised.

The Global Masters in Finance (LUMS) appeared in the Financial Times Masters in Finance Pre-experience 2012.

A book by Dr John Welshman (History), ‘Titanic: Last night of a Small Town’ was reviewed in Lancashire Life, June edition.

Research by Professor Chris Hatton (Health Research) into advocacy funding for people with learning disabilities was featured in Community Care.

Professor Robert Read (LUMS) was mentioned in the Guyana Times, 21 June, in an article about economics in the Caribbean.

Lancaster University Students’ Union television station ‘LA1:TV’ was featured in the Lancaster Guardian, 21 June, following a ‘Highly commended’ award at the National Student Television Association Awards.

Student Chris Winstanley was mentioned in the Lancaster Guardian, 21 June, following his secondment to a local business under the ‘Unite with Business’ programme.

Professor Cary Cooper (LUMS), was interviewed widely on the radio during Child Safety Week, including BBC Three Counties and several stations in Northern Ireland. He was also featured in an extensive interview in the Financial Times on the topic of executive pay. 2nd article
