Wingate Emmanuel Onyedi
Project participant in Nigeria
Born in Kaduna, Nigeria, on the 15th of December, 1983, Wingate Emmanuel Onyedi is a native of Obizi, in Ezinihitte Mbaise LGA of Imo State. Since the publication of his first novel, Memoirs of Jezebel, in 2004, he's been winner, 2005 ANA / Imo Children's Literature Prize, for The Reunion, published by major Nigerian publishers, Africana First Publishers, Onitsha; 1st runner-up, 2006 ANA / Imo Prose Prize, for Captive of Love, which has been serialized in the Saturday Vanguard; 1st runner-up, 2007 ANA / Nnamani Igbo Literature Prize (in honour of Nnamdi Azikiwe) for Onukwughaa, his forthcoming novel, written in the Igbo Language. He's had stories published in both print anthologies and online. He's currently of the Faculty of Law, University of Nigeria.
