This is your chance to meet some of us face-to-face and find out about the array of linguistics and English language postgraduate study options available. Speakers

Georgina Brown

Linguistics and English Language, Lancaster University

My research combines a number of subareas of speech science. I am mainly interested in forensic speech technology (accent recognition and speaker recognition systems) and how we can use phonetic and sociophonetic research to uncover the inner workings and potential of these technologies.

Oksana Afitska

Linguistics and English Language, Lancaster University

I am a Senior Lecturer / Associate Professor in TESOL and a Director of Postgraduate Taught (Masters) Programmes at the department of Linguistics and English Language. I am a Senior Fellow of Higher Education Academy. I joined Lancaster University in 2018. Prior to that I worked as a lecturer in applied linguistics at Sheffield University and as a tutor and a research assistant at the University of Bristol.
