Meet STOR-i's new MRes cohort

This October, STOR-i welcomed its newest cohort of MRes students to its Centre for Doctoral Training. The cohort consists of fourteen students who have joined us from the UK, Romania, Mexico, India, and the Netherlands, to embark on the STOR-i programme.

As part of their welcome week induction, the MRes students, along with the 1st year PhD cohort and various staff members, spent two days in the Lake District enjoying a packed schedule of team-building activities. These were designed to help them bond quickly and create a strong foundation of community, a core element to STOR-i’s ethos.

The two-day event saw teams of staff and students competing against each other in a series of different physical and mental challenges, whilst also allowing the new cohort time to get to know each other, their mentors in the year above, and STOR-i staff, in a fun and relaxed setting.

Beyond that, the new cohort have had a busy month starting their MRes core training modules, being part of STOR-i’s website photography day, and attending STOR-i’s weekly forums.

New MRes student Nikki Peddinenikalva said, “The MRes at STOR-i has been an enjoyable and fulfilling experience so far, equipping me with useful skills for a PhD.”

STOR-i’s applications for October 2025 entry are already open, so if you are interested in joining us, you can learn more about the programme and how to apply on the STOR-i website.
