On Monday 15th July we welcomed our summer research students to STOR-i. The welcome day included an introduction to life as a STOR-i summer student along with fun ice breaker and team building activities.

As part of its mission, STOR-i offers an opportunity for UK undergraduates to undertake 7-week research projects. The programme has been developed to give motivated students an opportunity to gain an experience of research alongside like-minded peers. The projects also allow students to develop their team work, communication and problem solving skills through a variety of activities including collaborative group work, taught courses and a problem solving day.

This year eight students have joined STOR-i from Universities across the UK including Durham University, University of Glasgow, Lancaster University, University College London, and University of Warwick. This summer the students will complete research projects with the support and supervision of first year STOR-i PhD students and research students and staff from the Department of Management Science and the Department Mathematics and Statistics.
