Event Details

The STEW will be hosted at Lancaster University from the 20th-22nd September 2023. This workshop will combine key areas of extreme value analyses, ranging from climate extremes to multivariate and spatio-temporal models and machine learning techniques.

We aim to provide an excellent opportunity for PhD students, postdocs and researchers in the field to discuss their current research, to learn about the latest advances in extreme value theory (EVT) and to network with leading academics.

The workshop will feature keynote presentations from some of the UK’s top researchers in EVT, including Distinguished Professor Jonathan Tawn, Dr Miguel de Carvalho, Dr Daniela Castro-Camilo, Dr Emma Simpson and Dr Christian Rohrbeck. An evening meal will be hosted at the Lancaster House Hotel situated on the Lancaster University campus.

We welcome abstract submissions from all areas of extreme value theory. Registration is now open and is free of charge – but please note that the workshop dinner and accommodation are not included in registration.

Registration and abstract submission can be completed here. Places are limited so we encourage you to do this as soon as possible. The deadline for registration is 30^th April 2023. Further details regarding accommodation and the evening meal will be provided soon.
