Welcome to my website! I am a PhD student at STOR-i in Lancaster University. Please see my STOR-i page for more information about the program. My project is titled ‘Optimal Discrete Search with a Map’ and is supervised by Prof Kevin Glazebrook and Dr Robert Shone. The project is in partnership with the Naval Postgraduate School in California. This website will be used to showcase some of the work I do over the next few years. If you would like to get in contact with me please visit my contact me page.
I graduated from the University of Exeter in the summer of 2019 with a Master’s degree in mathematics. During my time there I studied a range of topics in pure mathematics in addition to a few modules in more applied areas such as stochastic processes and graph theory. While completing my Master’s dissertation on p-adic analysis I began to investigate opportunities in post graduate research. I subsequently enrolled on the STOR-i program and have completed the first year graduating with a Maters of Research in Operational Research and Statistics.
In the summer of 2018 I completed a 9 week research placement at the Centre for Ecology and Hydrology in association with the University of Reading where I was part of a team investigating the effects of snowmelt on flood forecasting models. This experience reaffirmed my desire to pursue a career in research and in particular for the focus of that research to have tangible impact.
