Targets
for 14-3-3 Proteins in Pathogen Signalling
|
We and other groups have
identified protein-protein interactions between 14-3-3s and a variety of
proteins known to be involved in signalling during plant pathogen resistance
responses. These are illustrated below in a very simplified model of the
resistance response of tomato plants to the fungal pathogen Cladosporium
fulvum. We are currently investigating the functional
significance of these interactions during the resistance response. |
|
Key:
Avr9 = C. fulvum
race 9 avirulence elicitor peptide
Cf9 = tomato resistance
gene involved in the recognition of Avr9
CDPK = Calmodulin
domain protein kinase / Calcium-dependent protein kinase
MAPK = Mitogen-activated
protein kinase homologue
MAPKK/MAPKKK
= MAPK kinase/MAPKK kinase
NR = Never-ripe,
a tomato ethylene receptor
CTR1 = MAPKKK invovled
in ethylene signalling
EREBPs = ethylene
response element binding proteins
JA = Jasmonic acid
