About Us
We are an informal badminton club for staff, postgraduate students and alumni of Lancaster University and their families, friends and guests. Nylon shuttlecocks are provided by the club; you are welcome to bring your own feather shuttlecocks.
- Club evenings:
- Tuesdays, 7pm–10pm
- Venue:
- Lancaster University Sports Centre, usually on Courts 1–4 in Sports Hall 1
- Fee:
- £1.00 each evening attended. After paying, please tick the register.
Members of staff and postgraduate students at Lancaster University can enter the Sports Centre for free to play at the club; simply show your staff/library card at the Sports Centre reception and state that you are attending the Staff Badminton Club.

Information for (New) Players
- Games should be played as doubles as much as possible. After each game finishes, allow anyone waiting to come on court and to mix up the teams. Singles games should only be played if there are more court spaces than people present.
- Please pay with cash or by card when you arrive at the courts. The fees cover the costs of organising the courts and the club and buying shuttles.
- Please tick or add your name to the register in the black shuttlecock box each evening you attend.
- Players don't have to stay the whole time, but can just come for part of the evening if they prefer.
