The league emphasizes inclusivity by allowing participants to compete regardless of their size, shape, weight, height, or sex assigned at birth. An innovative scoring system is used to ensure fairness and equity among competitors.
The UFL fixtures are centered around basic movements commonly practiced in gyms. This focus allows participants to develop their foundational fitness skills while also providing opportunities for specialisation in certain movements.
Each university assembles a squad of athletes who compete across various movements throughout the season. This team-based approach fosters camaraderie and encourages participants to support one another.
The competition progresses through several rounds, including the Round of 32, Sweet 16, Elite 8, Final 4, and ultimately the Championship. Each team member must complete their assigned movement in each round, contributing to the overall success of the squad.
Participants are encouraged to attempt all movements to assess their overall fitness levels. This benchmarking allows individuals to track their progress and improvements over time.
