Make the most of the Easter break with fitness classes, sports, and family-friendly activities at Sport Lancaster.

Easter Opening Times

  • Good Friday 18 April: 11am – 7pm
  • Saturday 19 April: 7.30am – 6pm
  • Sunday 19 April: 7.30am – 6pm
  • Easter Monday 20 April: 9am – 4pm

£2 Turn Up and Play – Badminton and/or Table Tennis

Students staying on campus during the University’s Easter vacation period are invited to meet new people and enjoy some sports at Sport Lancaster's Turn Up & Play sessions.

These sessions don’t require a booking, students can turn up at the sports centre between 11am-1pm on the day of each session to play badminton and/or tennis, with all equipment provided.

All sessions will run between 11am-1pm.

Intensive Swimming Lessons

Sport Lancaster is hosting Intensive Swimming Lessons during the Easter school holidays to help Stage 1 and Stage 2 swimmers make progress in the water. By the end of the week, each swimmer will gain basic water confidence, foundational swimming skills, and enjoyment in the water.

Monday 7 - Friday 11 April

  • Stage 1: 9.45am – 10.15am
  • Stage 2: 10.15am – 10.45am

Fun With Floats

Spend quality time with your family throughout the Easter school holidays at a Fun With Floats session. The 60-minute fun-filled float sessions, suitable for the whole family, return for the Easter period. Featuring floats, balls, noodles, and toys for all to enjoy and interact with in the 25m Swimming pool.

Easter Climbing Camps for Young People

Sport Lancaster’s Easter Climbing Camps are aimed at children and young people looking to improve their climbing ability and make new friends over the school holidays.

The Climbing Camps are split into sessions by different age groups, and the tutoring is tailored to the needs and abilities of each participant, as follows:

7-9 years:

  • Monday 7 April, 9am-12pm
  • Friday 11 April, 9am-12pm
  • Wednesday 16 April, 9am-12pm

10-13 years:

  • Tuesday 8 April, 9am-12pm
  • Thursday 10 April, 9am-12pm
  • Thursday 17 April, 9am-12pm

14+ years:

  • Wednesday 9 April, 9am-12pm
  • Tuesday 15 April, 9am-12pm

National Indoor Climbing Award Scheme (NICAS) Taster Sessions

Aimed at young people between 7-17 years old, the taster sessions are a fun introduction to climbing and the National Indoor Climbing Award Scheme (NICAS).

Each class will include climbing with ropes and bouldering, lots of games, safety and technique, team building, and basic elements of a NICAS session.

7-9 years

10-13 years

More skills in safety, rope work, and climbing techniques will be taught during the NICAS summer term at Sport Lancaster.

Group Exercise Classes

Fitness classes at Sport Lancaster are delivered by experienced, qualified, and knowledgeable instructors, designed to help you achieve your health and wellness goals. With over 100 classes taught a week, in person and virtually in Studio 1, from high-intensity interval training (HIIT) to yoga and everything in between, there is a class for everyone.
