Male, female, and accessible changing facilities are equipped with;
The disabled changing facility is also a gender-neutral changing space. Children under 8 years old can use any changing facility if accompanied by an adult.
Local charity organisations Galloways Society for the Blind and Positive Futures regularly host inclusive climbing sessions for individuals with sight impairments and other accessibility requirements.
The inclusive climbing sessions are held mostly on Fridays; however, the frequency can be increased based on demand.
Full-body harnesses are available for children, young people, and adults who require more support when climbing.
The Climbing Wall team is working closely with Access Sport to make climbing at Sport Lancaster accessible to all.
A Fitness Instructor stationed in each Sport Lancaster training room can offer support with exercise choices and adaptation to suit different training needs.
The hand bike machines on the ground floor have a removable chair feature which can be replaced with a wheelchair. The hand bike is an upper body-focused machine that trains muscular endurance and cardio.
All TechnoGym resistance machines have handles and back support to aid moving onto the machine and maintain support throughout the session. Each piece of TechnoGym equipment has a digital screen with instructions on how to use the machine and increase strength.
Kinesis is a cable machine that allows users with impaired physicality, and wheelchair users, to perform a full-body workout. The machine comes with easily visible instructions for each exercise.
Lifeguards are always on hand to support Swimming Pool users.
The Aquatics team work closely with Access Sport to deliver Fun With Floats SEN sessions at Sport Lancaster accessible to all.

Suitable for individuals who feel nervous about going to the gym alone, or who’d like to go climbing or racket sporting but have no one to play with; the Sport Lancaster Buddy Scheme pairs individuals together based on shared interests, fitness levels, and schedules to help being physically active more enjoyable.
Join the Buddy Scheme to be paired with a likeminded student and enjoy a supportive and friendly environment to be active.

Meet a Fitness Instructor for an introduction to the fitness facilities at Sport Lancaster. Getting Started sessions give new gym users the confidence and knowledge to enjoy an effective and safe workout.
Receive expert guidance from a Sport Lancaster Fitness Instructor on training, handling gym equipment, maximising a work, and gaining confidence.
Multiple bays for accessible car parking are positioned next to the Sport Lancaster entrance for Blue Badge holders. There is a bus stop positioned a 1-minute walk through the Sport Lancaster car park.
