Lancaster University ranked in world top 50 for Arts and Humanities

The Times Higher Education (THE) has ranked Lancaster University in the world top 50 for Arts and Humanities.

Published today, the 2020 THE World University Rankings by subject places Arts and Humanities at Lancaster at 50.

Professor Michael Hughes, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, said: “This ranking recognises the strength of Arts and Humanities at Lancaster on a global scale. Through our research and teaching, our community of world-leading academics tackle major issues that are of primary importance for this and future generations of global citizens. We work with colleagues in our own and other disciplines at Lancaster University and in universities, communities and businesses around the world.”

The 2020 Times Higher Education World University Rankings table for arts and humanities subjects uses the same trusted and rigorous performance indicators as the World University Rankings, but the methodology has been recalibrated to suit the individual fields.
