The two research studies are being undertaken jointly by Universities of Lancaster, Liverpool, Manchester and the Medical Research Council's Unit for Lifelong Health and Ageing in London. The team is multidisciplinary with expertise in public health research, social epidemiology and social statistics, sociology, health economics, anthropology, policy ethnography and geography.
Members of the public as NDC resident and paid workers are involved in the research as co investigators and advisers. Our public advisers bring extensive knowledge and practical experience of approaches to community engagement and will contribute to identifying local data sources, the construction of research tools and the conduct of fieldwork including identifying local informants.
Our approach to public involvement is shaped by good practice guidance available from INVOLVE.
