This 2019 international conference aims to continue facilitating exchanges of experiences in using innovation methodologies in practice and formalizing a network of professionals who are interested in innovation, doctrine, development and defence planning. It will cover a broad spectrum of topics, including new technologies, methods of thinking and broader global trends impacting on our security. The primary objective is to accelerate knowledge sharing, research and development on innovation methodologies between international allies and partners in the business, public and academic sectors. The secondary objective is to continue to build upon and develop the community and expand the network of the 2018 event.
This event will provide a unique and influential space for both experienced and emerging defence innovators. We invite the former to use this space for sharing their practical approaches as well as to experiment with new methodologies. We invite the latter to participate in state-of-the-art debates and to receive feedback on their own methodologies and practical approaches from leading experts. Participating experts count, among others, Ben Zweibelson (JSOU – US SOCOM), Dr Ofra Graicer (IDF National Defense College), Dr Aaron Jackson(Australia DOD), Dr Antoine Bousquet (Birbeck U), Professor Chris Paparone (National Defense University), Professor Philippe Dufort (Université Saint-Paul).
Part of the gesture of IMDC is to engage in theoretical practices that take us outside our comfort zone. In this spirit we have carefully designed the IMDC conference with care and ensured that the participants can attend all the panels, sessions, workshops and Keynote speeches throughout the conference for an immersive experience that brings the IMDC community together in ways that support on-going sharing of practices, knowledge & ideas. We have built in networking and free time to give you chance to socialise and network with new and existing colleague’s, to develop new collaborations and ideas.
