Welcome from Dr Steve Lane
About me:
I am a volcanologist interested in physical eruption processes including the flow of magma underground, magma fragmentation and the interaction of erupted products with the atmosphere. I teach volcanology in the field, classroom and laboratory.
About the programme:
With its volcanology core and a wide range of environmental options, our MSc in Volcanology and the Environment allows you to build on your subject knowledge and extend your skill base. There is a strong research emphasis centred on working within a research group for your dissertation and through research-led teaching. There are opportunities for field work, laboratory-based study and numerical modelling of volcanic and environmental processes dependent on your interests.
