As superintendent I have responsibility for the fabric of the building and supervising the technical staff. I am also, as area safety officer, responsible for safety in the Department, in liaison with the University Safety Office. In addition I work part of the week in the Department's Electronics Workshop. In my absence please contact the Deputy Superintendent.

I joined the department in 1984 as a trainee and, having completed my training throughout all sections of the department (mechanical workshop, low temperature physics, photography etc), settled in the electronics workshop. In 1988 I gained an HNC in Applied Physics and Electronics.
