Research Overview

My research aims to understand how methane is produced and moves through trees in tropical wetlands. I want to understand the source of methane in trees and whether trees produce methane themselves or act as a conduit for soil-derived methane. I also study the drivers of variability across wetland forests and if this differs between pristine forest and disturbed forests.I'm using measurements above and below-ground, including methane flux, stable isotopes, radiocarbon isotopes and soil properties to support my research, conducting fieldwork in the Brazilian Amazon.
