Research Overview

My research is in the theory of strongly correlated electron systems: when the interplay between the electrons in a material and their quantum properties cannot be treated in an average way. The phenomena that result span superconductivity through to magnetism and can lead to the emergence of new types of quantum particle. I work closely with experiementalists in probing, analysing and understanding the wealth of emergent behaviour that arises.
