Computer science is a dynamic discipline with a diverse range of applications and career paths. This programme explores the theory and practice of innovative and experimental computer science, allowing you to develop well-rounded professional and technical skills.
Our Computer Science programme provides you with the knowledge and skills required to become a computing professional. You will learn to work effectively in a professional software and systems development environment. Delivering a broad yet rigorous grounding in computer science, this programme uses both theoretical and practical learning approaches. You will gain cutting-edge knowledge and skills through state-of-the-art equipment and expert teaching offered at the School of Computing and Communications.
Key Facts
Application to the 2-year BSc Computer Science (International) degree programme is for students from institutions with an appropriate partnership agreement. Under these agreements the equivalent to Year 1 will be studied at one of our partner universities. We are not able to consider applications from students outside of these partnership agreements.

In your second year at Lancaster, you will be motivated by topics that become progressively deeper and more specialised as your skills develop. In addition to progressing your foundational understanding, programming, and software design skills, you will explore social, ethical and professional issues related to the discipline and will complete a group project. This will prepare you for and give you experience of computing in the real-world.

Entry requirements
Students studying at one of our partner institutions
For entry to this programme, you must be studying on an approved curriculum at one of our partner institutions. We will advise you separately of the entry requirements specific to your particular programme. In each case, we have benchmarked these to be the equivalent to 2:1 in Year 1 at Lancaster.
