Steve's research goal is to leverage hardware innovations to make computers more useful, engaging and inclusive. He builds devices, tools and experiences that span domains such as the internet of things, mobile & ubiquitous computing, assistive technologies and education. He works at all scales from prototype to production, and his work has contributed to millions of devices with tens of millions of users. Projects include the BBC micro:bit, SenseCam, Azure Sphere and Jacdac.
Steve is also a passionate proponent and communicator of all things tech, with the goal of enabling others to better understand and leverage technology.
