Professor Bahram Honary
The University deeply regrets to announce the death of Professor Bahram Honary, former researcher in the Computing and Communications department.
Professor Bahram Honary held a number of research roles at Lancaster across many years. He was an internationally-recognised academic and researcher in the field of communication systems. He became a faculty member at Lancaster University in 1993, and was instrumental in establishing the Communications Research Centre in 1994, which later became the Communication Systems Department in 1999. Professor Honary’s work in the field of communication systems was highly regarded by his colleagues and students alike. He published over 502 research outputs and has been a mentor to many students throughout his academic career. He was known for his dedication to his students and his passion for teaching.
A memorial service will be held at the University Chaplaincy at 10:30am on Friday 22 December. All are welcome.
