The main funders have dedicated funding application portals where researchers can complete and submit their proposals electronically. The key funder portals are listed below in alphabetical order. To register for access to any of these portals, click on the link in the titles and follow the prompts on the funder’s portal page.
British Academy Flexi-Grant
This portal replaces the British Academy’s eGAP grant application system. Institutional approval is not required for registration to this portal.
European Commission Participant Portal
This is the portal for submitting European Research Council and Horizon 2020 grant applications. Institutional approval is not required for registration to this portal.
Je-S
This is the portal for submitting proposals to the seven UK Research Councils. When a researcher has registered for an account, Je-S automatically requests institutional approval for access. Researchers will receive an email when this approval has been processed.
Leverhulme Trust
This is the portal for all applications being made to the Leverhulme Trust. All new users require validation by the Leverhulme Trust before receiving access to the system. The Trust endeavours to complete this validation process as soon as possible following the completion of a researcher’s initial registration.
Nuffield Foundation
The Nuffield Foundation does not have a funder portal but takes grant submissions via email. Proposal documents and an application guide can be found by clicking on the link in the title and scrolling down the web page.
The Royal Society
This is the portal for all applications being made to the Royal Society. Institutional approval is not required for registration to this portal.
Wellcome Trust
This is the portal for all applications being made to the Wellcome Trust. Institutional approval is not required for registration to this portal.
