Dealing With Difficult Situations

You may have turned to this section because the person you support acts in ways you find difficult to manage. He or she might be angry or causing trouble. You may be worried that they are drinking too much or taking drugs. Perhaps they have been brought home by the police.

Young people (and old) are often rebellious, anti-social and likely to put themselves in risky situations. But if they have psychosis or bipolar disorder as well, growing up may be more difficult for them and they may have even more difficulties in getting on with other people.

This section aims to help you understand difficult behaviours and consider some additional strategies to deal with them.
