About us

The Queer Medical Humanities Network brings together interdisciplinary research across the Medical Humanities and the Health Humanities relating to queer and LGBTQIA+ healthcare. The Network explores how Medical Humanities and Health Humanities research can respond to diverse topics within queer and LGBTQIA+ healthcare.

The Queer Medical Humanities Network (QMHN) was founded in 2023 and is led by Dr Benjamin Dalton, Lecturer in French Studies in the School of Global Affairs at Lancaster University.

It brings together researchers from across the University and beyond, for instance exploring the intersections and connections between ongoing health/care research in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS) and the Faculty of Health and Medicine (FHM).

The inaugural seed meeting for the Queer Medical Humanities Network took place on Friday 21st July 2023, supported by funding from the FASS Health Hub.

On Friday 19th April 2024, the QMHN will be hosting a Public Research Showcase.
