Road to Gatebeck from West View
Fox possibly went down to Gatebeck and the road along the valley bottom to Preston Patrick (to the south) via the road from Crosslands, about three-quarters of a mile further north. There are however several possibilities; this is another of them. David and Anthea Boulton suggest that he may have gone via the road to Warth (which cuts just across this one a little higher up the hill) and Hellgill Bridge, dropping down to Camsgill.
