Duddon Sands and Millom from Tippins Lane, evening

Millom only became a prosperous industrial town in the mid 19th century with the discovery of iron ore. Before that, Bootle was the market centre. Millom Castle was the most conspicuous landmark. The church tower is 19th-century.
