Hawkshead Old Grammar School

Founded 1585 by Edwin Sandys, Archbishop of York. Wiliam Caton and George Fell were pupils here. So was William Wordsworth. It was rebuilt in 1675 by Daniel Rawlinson, vintner of London, friend of Pepys, but of a local family.
