Work in this theme aims to understand both the factors that impact brain health and cognition, as well as developing sensory, cognitive, and neural markers to provide an insight into current and future brain function.
For example, research has explored the cognitive effects of glucose regulatory mechanisms in diabetics, as well as the neurocognitive effects of energy drinks, nutritional supplements and food components. Another research focus intersects with developing biological markers and technologies based on visual, auditory, or cognitive neural function, which will help with future diagnostic and healthcare needs, or be used in an educational context to predict associations of early executive function for academic achievement.
