Research Overview

My research interest is primarily focused on early child-caregiver interaction. More specifically, I am interested in how early bouts of mutual engagement, characterised by mutual gaze and imitation, affect more complex interactions further down the developmental timeline. My PhD will study dyadic interaction dynamics to understand the origins of how infants undertake the difficult task of breaking into shared communication.
