Dr Georgia Walton

Research Associate in English Literature (The Future of Human Reproduction)

Research Overview

I am a Research Associate in English Literature on The Future of Human Reproduction Project. Prior to joining the project I was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Leeds where I also completed my doctoral research on the legacies of the American Renaissance in Contemporary US Literature.

My research interests are in American literature and culture from the nineteenth century to the present. Throughout all my work I seek to make connections accross different historical moments and forms. I am particularly interested in the relationships between philosophy and literature, and film and literature. I am currently working on a monograph that develops my doctoral work. In addition to this I am developing a project on the representation of fairgrounds and amusement parks in American literature. And my work on the Future of Human Reproduction Project is nuturing a burgeoning research interest in Science Fiction.
