The ULT 2025: Frontiers of Low-Temperature Physics Conference will be taking place on 14th-19th August 2025 at Lancaster University. Further details to be announced shortly, but topics will include:

Venue and Travel

The scientific programme will be held at the George Fox Building of Lancaster University. Lancaster University is located in the picturesque North West England

Lancaster is just over two hours from London and Edinburgh on the West Coast Line, and is just over an hour from Manchester and Liverpool. About the University

A beautiful location

Set in the beautiful Lancashire countryside ten minutes outside of the city of Lancaster, Lancaster University boasts a sprawling, green campus with stunning views of the nearby Forest of Bowland.

Our Physics Department is one of the most highly-ranked in the country; we were ranked 4th in the Guardian University Guide 2024 and 6th in the Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2024 for our undergraduate courses, whilst 98% of our research was ranked world-leading or internationally excellent in REF 2021.

We have a wide variety of state-of-the-art research facilities situated within the Department, including Ultra-Low Temperature fridges, a suite of three Isolabs, and are home to the Quantum Technology Centre.
