Get ready to dive into the fascinating world of science at Spotlight on Science Day 1, where we'll explore exciting scientific discoveries and breakthroughs!

Our talks for the Wednesday include:

  • Silicone carbide: An introduction into the world of materials science, its importance in everyday life and a deep dive into the work being done by scientists in Finland.
  • Hyrox - Craze or for Good: The new fitness competition taking over the exercise space. Where did it come from? Why is it so popular? How can you get involved?
  • Bumblebee Conservation: Exploring the different species, their importance to native ecosystems, and to human society.
  • The Importance of Outreach and Public Engagement: Why I set up the Teaching and Public Engagement Course.
