Event Details

The Pentland Centre is hosting a virtual common room to explore the challenges of meaning and value in research impact.

In this session, the meaning and value of research impact will be explored through key questions: What does it mean to have impact? How do we discern value when assessing impact? And what is the place of research impact in a world facing climate, humanitarian and health crises?

As a university part of our mission is to “accelerate our transformative impact in the communities in which we operate” and part of the key to this is “to focus on high-value and high-impact projects” that make use of our interdisciplinarity. In this discussion we will reflect on what this means for us as members of the Lancaster University community and how we can achieve it in a manner that is cognisant of the diversity of ways in which research can interact with and impact the world around us.

The session will take place from 15:00 to 16:00 on Teams.

All welcome!

No registration required.
