Event Details
The Pentland Centre is hosting a series of sessions designed for our Professional Services members, and open to Professional Services colleagues across the University, as well as academic colleagues who may not have expertise in the topic.
This research explainer session, led by Professor Jan Bebbington, will introduce the idea of 'information intermediation' which is concerned with how information is shared with others to create greater understanding of what is 'good' and what is 'bad' in terms of some object of interest. If this information is provided in a structured way, it is assumed to help decision makers. Benchmarking of corporate non-financial reporting is an information intermediation process and the seminar will explain how benchmarks 'work' using examples of existing benchmarks.
These sessions are designed to present research expertise in straightforward language, making it easier for non-academic staff to engage with the speaker's work.
All Lancaster University staff and students welcome - registration required.
NB: The seminar runs from 14:00-14:50 in CHC- Charles Carter A18 and on Teams. Please note that this session will be recorded.
