The Pentland Centre for Sustainability in Business is hosting a workshop on the reporting of ecosystem restoration projects by corporations. Participants will collaborate to enhance restoration reporting and develop practical solutions.

A group of academics, businesses, consultants and policy makers will come together to learn from each other’s work, identify areas for improvement in the reporting of business-led restoration, and work towards solutions for both policy and practice.

The event will include:

• Overview of recent research on trends in corporate reporting of ecosystem restoration, from University of Oxford and Lancaster University.
• Identification of recent updates to international frameworks and guidelines on corporate sustainability reporting (e.g. Global Reporting Initiative, Taskforce for Nature-Related Financial Disclosures), and how they pertain to ecosystem restoration.
• Case studies of how individual businesses and ecosystem restoration projects from the European Outdoor Conservation Association (EOCA) are reporting on environmental progress, and how this can align with recent updates to international guidelines.
• Group review of the new Nature Positive Initiative (NPI) framework for reporting metrics.
