PhD studentResearch Overview
My research work aims to contribute to the knowledge on ‘generations’ by unravelling the dichotomy in the concept of 'generations in the workplaces' in the practitioner and academic literature and its potential impact in the organizational context. While the practitioner literature supports the idea of classifying the age diverse workforce in organizations into different 'generational groups' and attributing labels such as 'Baby Boomers', 'Generation X', 'Millennials', and so on, the academic literature opposes this and highlights a host of issues like theoretical and conceptual misunderstandings, methodological lacunas in the research supporting the pro viewpoint. My research methodology includes conducting semi-structured interviews and application of Critical Discourse Analysis on documents as the two data collection methods for this research.
