Museums and Archives
Museums and heritage organisations can provide a lot of assistance to schools in helping students understand and appreciate their local heritage. They can offer special guided visits, loans of curriculum-related artifacts and special events which take a 'hands on' approach to history. Archives, national and local, can also be used to develop teaching resources.
