Coming to the MBC Conference? Five things you should know!

Ahead of the event, here are five things you should think about:

1) When to arrive:

Registration opens at 9.30am on Friday. The event will start promptly at 10am as we have a jam packed programme for you to enjoy! There will be stalls and refreshments on arrival.

2) How to get there:

Please consider travelling to the event in the most sustainable way you can. Campus is well served by buses and cycleways.

If this will be your first time coming to campus, or to LICA, welcome! You will find general maps and travel guidance on Lancaster University’s web page here. The event will take place at Lancaster Institute for the Contemporary Arts (LICA), which is on the north end of Lancaster University campus marked on this map as LIC.

There is guest parking on campus for those travelling by car, parking costs £5 a day and you will find a payment hub near all areas marked as Visitor Parking on this map – areas A, B and C being nearest to the building.

3) What to wear?

We want you to feel comfortable and we are not expecting people to be in corporate attire. If you think you’d like to get outside for a hands-on session in the afternoon, bear in mind the forecast says there might be some light drizzle and you will likely head into the nearby forest area, so sensible footwear is a must!

4) Which afternoon sessions you fancy:

Delegates will be asked to pick which two afternoon sessions they would like to attend during Friday morning. Sign up will be first come first served. There are two afternoon session slots, and each slot gives you a choice between twelve small roundtable workshops. Have a look on our website ahead of time to get an idea of which sessions you would like to put your name down for and think about your backup options too.

We know it will be hard to choose! Which leads us onto our final thing…

5) We will be heading to the bar at the end of the day!

Want to hear about the other sessions? Celebrate (nearly) the end of term? Follow the Baybeat Band at the end of the day to the Northern Oak bar where you can enjoy cocktails/mocktails, a beverage of your choice and a good catch up! Note: This bar only takes card.

That should be everything, see you on Friday!
