The conference will take place at the Ambleside Campus of the University of Cumbria. Ambleside is a picturesque village in the heart of the English Lake District.

Travel

The nearest train station to Ambleside is Windermere. There are then regular bus services from Windermere to Ambleside.

The nearest large airport is Manchester, from which there are two advised routes to Ambleside. Firstly:

• Train from Manchester Airport to Windermere.
• Bus from Windermere to Ambleside.

In total, this should take about three hours. Alternatively, there is the route:

• Train from Manchester Airport to Oxenholme Lake District.
• Train from Oxenholme Lake District to Windermere.
• Bus from Windermere to Ambleside.

This is about twenty minutes quicker than the previous route, but requires changing trains.

Parking is available on the University of Cumbria Ambleside campus. Please contact us if you will require a visitors’ parking permit.

Accommodation

We have reserved single ensuite rooms in the University of Cumbria Halls at a rate of £35-45 per night.
