Offer holder events are exclusive events that help you to picture yourself at Lancaster by providing subject taster sessions, careers information and important updates about the Management School. You even get a free lunch and a contribution towards your travel costs.
The day starts with registration, where you can meet some of our friendly student ambassadors and grab a coffee and some breakfast.
Next comes our welcome session to introduce Lancaster University Management School, or LUMS as we are known, through the eyes of our current students. After this you will have an engaging subject session to really explore the department or discipline you've applied for. We then provide you with a complimentary lunch, and this is a chance to network and mingle with staff, students, and prospective peers within the School. The day also includes lots of information on what LUMS can offer you as a student. We also arrange for our student ambassadors to take you for a full tour of campus and see our facilities, their favourite eating places, accommodation, and more. We really hope to welcome you to one of our Offer Holder Events, so look out for your email with details of how to sign up.
So what I really enjoyed about the Lancaster offer holder event was getting to speak to the students who were on the course and finding out more about life here at Lancaster, and that's what actually convinced me to choose Lancaster and put it down as my firm choice university because everyone seemed really friendly and you got to experience more of the University and what life here would be like and also get to look around the accommodation as well.
Yeah. I thought it was a really good day. I thought it was a really good chance to actually have a look at the University and the
facilities that the university has. I think, for me, it was really important to get a feel of what the University was like in terms of, the people, the facilities, the quality of learning that you'd be entering and so I thought it was good to get that kind of physical experience.
I'd say definitely come to the offer holder event as it's very different to the Open Day. The open day is very general and maybe you're considering a few different courses whereas the offer holder event is specific to the course that you have come for.
I'd say it's a really valuable insight as opposed to just looking online. It's a really good opportunity to actually do things that you can't just do behind the screen and I'd say if you are going to somewhere for three or four years, it's certainly good to actually get a feel for the place.
I would say to anyone coming to an offer holder event to come here, take this chance to get to know us. This is an important decision you're going to make in your life, and of course, you want to make sure you're as informed as possible, and coming here and meeting us provides you with that opportunity to really get a sense of what Lancaster has to offer.
I would strongly encourage students who hold an offer for Lancaster University to take the opportunity to visit our campus and to bring along their loved ones, family, friends people who know them really well and ask for feedback from them as to whether they think that you actually fit into that environment because fitting in is very important and it's very much an individual decision. It's something that is personal to you. What might suit one person may not suit somebody else, so coming and actually getting a feel for what it would be like for you and what your interests are and whether it aligns with all of that, and can you actually see yourself here? So I think a lot of students that do come go away feeling a lot more positive about making their decision, so definitely, an opportunity that should be taken on.
