Title: Digital Currencies: Risk and Opportunities

Bio:

Juraj Hledik is currently a Policy Analyst at the European Commission's Joint Research Centre (JRC), where he has been working since October 2022. His role involves a variety of tasks such as economic and statistical analyses, data architecture design, full stack development, and project management. He also contributes to the publication of reports and articles and liaises with policy directorates and external counterparties. Prior to this, he served as an Adviser to the Slovak Minister of Finance and as a Senior Researcher at the National Bank of Slovakia, focusing on digital technologies and sustainable finance, and strategic asset allocation, respectively. He has also held research positions at the National Bank of Austria and the European Central Bank, where he worked on mathematical modelling and data pipeline design. As an academic, he lectured on evolutionary game theory at Comenius University in Bratislava. Dr. Hledik has published several papers on topics such as systemic risk and financial networks. He holds a PhD in Finance from the Vienna Graduate School of Finance and a Master's in Financial Mathematics from Comenius University in Bratislava.
