Profile

Simone joined Lancaster University Management School from Loughborough Business School, where he was Senior Lecturer in Strategy and Innovation. Prior to that, he spent five years working as a manager at the University of Manchester China Institute (2018-2019) and at the Lancaster University China Catalyst Programme (LCCP – 2014-2018), a £5 million Lancaster University project which aimed at creating and supporting R&D partnerships between UK and Chinese organisations. During his time at LCCP Simone advised more than 60 UK SMEs on their China strategy.

He obtained a PhD in Management from Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna di Pisa (Italy)(2012), where he is a Research Affiliate at the Institute of Management.

His work has been published in such journals as The Journal of Product Innovation Management, British Journal of Management, R&D Management, Creativity and Innovation, Research-Technology Management.

He regularly reviews papers for leading journals in the fields of management, innovation, and international business. He is a member of the Editorial Review Board of R&D Management.

Beyond his research interests, Simone has worked extensively with Italian, UK and Chinese Government institutions to set up and deliver cooperation programmes and official business delegations.
