PhD studentResearch Interests
My research investigates corporate political activism - by which firms take a public stance on a contentious sociopolitical issue, manifesting in attempts to influence the discourse or effect changes in public policy in relation to the issue.
Situated broadly within studies of management and society, my research aims to build a conception of corporate political activism as a political rather than merely managerial phenomenon. Specifically, I seek to explore how the practice of political activism by corporations affects our understanding of the legitimate political role of business, and the relationship between the practice and democracy.
