Deborah Denton
Senior Teaching FellowProfile
Prior to teaching in the Management School I spent 19 years working in sales and marketing roles in the UK drinks and hospitality industries. This included the roles of Head of Marketing Services for a major international brewing company, Brand Director (Offer Manager) for a chain of quality food-led pubs and a consultancy role with an international food and drink supplier.
My teaching at LUMS has spanned diverse marketing subject areas including innovation and B2B marketing, but key focus areas have been marketing strategy/management and channels including retailing. Working across these I have a particular interest in how we more effectively embed aspects of responsibility into our teaching, more specifically aspects of ethics and sustainability relating to product/packaging design and supply chains.
My other specific area of interest, relating to my roles as Academic Employability Champion and Core Skills lead, is the student development journey and in particular how we ensure that we provide robust and inclusive academic and careers support so that all students have equal opportunities to succeed.
