Dr Emre Tarim, Mr Lee Francis, and Dr Josiane Fernandes represented Lancaster University Management School's Department of Marketing at a key community event, Campus in the City.

The Campus in the City interactive showcase, a two-day fun-packed and hands-on exhibition and celebration of research and teaching at Lancaster University, was held between 11 and 12 April 2025, after its successful re-launch in 2024.

The team from the Department of Marketing hosted the "Marketing Pavilion".

Participants at the Pavilion designed their dream snack, decided on its price and packaging, and tested their product’s performance with the state-of-the-art eye-tracking technology the Department uses for research and teaching.

Participants ranged from 6 to 13 years and received their Young Marketeer Certificates and activity stickers at the end.

Participants also wrote on "Good Consumption" and "Bad Consumption" flipcharts, summarising their feelings and experiences on the positive and negative aspects of consumption.

The Pavilion was a success and gave Dr Tarim, Mr Francis and Dr Fernandes a few ideas and inspiration for another run in next year’s Campus in the City and in other engagement and teaching activities held at the Department. Feel free to contact them if you have any questions on Campus in the City.
