Lancaster’s Executive Master’s in Business Administration (EMBA) has moved up the QS Global Rankings and is placed in the top 100 in the world.

Lancaster’s EMBA is placed 91st in the world overall, up from the 99th spot last year, and is ranked 34th among Europe.

The QS Global Rankings, published today, aim to give prospective students the data they need to help with their decision making. The rankings examine 194 EMBA programmes from 45 countries and assess the programmes using nine different indicators.

Today’s rankings confirm Lancaster University Management School’s (LUMS) EMBA is ranked 42nd in the world and 16th in Europe for ‘Thought Leadership’ and 73rd in the world and 34th in Europe for its students’ career outcomes.

Professor Claire Leitch, Executive Dean of Lancaster University Management School, said: “It is fantastic to see the strength and depth of Lancaster’s EMBA offering recognised in these global rankings.

“Executive MBAs are designed to propel high-calibre, business-minded people to the next stages of their careers – helping to shape them into the leaders they want to be in their chosen sectors.

“We are fortunate to attract first-class students and exceptional staff to our EMBA programme. We all feel a great sense of pride when we see our students take everything they have learned from their time at Lancaster and go on to carve out meaningful careers across the globe.”

Professor Pete Thomas, Associate Dean for Education, said: “LUMS has a rich 30-year history of delivering our EMBA programme and has a strong track record of transforming managers into responsible leaders who go on to take their sector by storm.

“Our programme has continually evolved over the decades to keep pace with the changing demands of business, and we look forward to launching a newly refreshed EMBA programme in Autumn 2025.”

Lancaster’s Executive MBA is a two-year part-time course, designed to fit around full-time employment. Lancaster’s EMBA is currently ranked 9th in the UK in the Financial Times EMBA Rankings 2023.
