Mari Thynne from the Department of Organisation, Work and Technology, who is currently completing her PhD, had been commissioned by Richard Parry, Head of the Experience Economy Sector at the Department of International Trade, to conduct a study on the potential effects of the Experience Economy on the UK Economy, and it is this topic which she spoke about at the Croatian-British Business Forum.

The audience included the British Ambassador to Croatia and two Croatian Government Ministers.

Mari’s career has spanned academia, senior management and professional theatre. Her research interests lie within the processes necessary to deliver meaningful and profitable ‘experiences’ within a developing experience economy.

In addition to the event in Croatia, Mari has also recently presented her findings at the Trends, Technology, Theming and Design in Leisure & Entertainments (TiLE) conference in London.

She said: “My work answers the call for investigation into the organisation required when creating a successful world of experience, and I felt honoured to be asked to present the findings at two such prominent British Government events.”
